Broadband Labels
This fall you will start to see what looks like nutrition labels for Internet products on our website and others. You read that right, and no we have NOT eaten too much sugar – yet.
A few years ago, the FCC decided to try to help consumers more easily compare Internet (broadband products), so they decided to use nutrition labels as the template with specific instructions for providers. The FCC instructed providers like us to make ‘Broadband Labels’ available to consumers starting in October of this year.
You will see them on our website, adjacent or nearby to pricing. If you have a grandfathered product or your Internet is in a package with another product, you won’t see a label. As of now, you’ll only see Broadband labels for Internet only products – both residential and business.
As with anything new, there are certain to be questions and refinements in the process. But we wanted you to know more about the Labels, so you understood the reasons and meaning of these new tools on our website.
Now, grab some cookies and check out the new broadband labels. Don’t forget the milk!
